I discussed it already in the referenced article, but here we go again. ![]() Unfortunately, or for the sake of my little tool, there are enough occasions when manual code generation is not an option, or at least automated code generation seems to be a better option. I know, and still, the statement is that you have to write all the code you can manually. ![]() Weird statement, especially when I promote a FOSS tool that is exactly targeting Java code generation. You should not generate code unless you really have to. I have already written an article a year ago about code generation and I have not changed my mind. If there is a possibility for the purpose you have to generate the code manually. This is the answer to the question set in the title. ![]() I will also describe the architecture and the ideas (the kind of eureka moment) of a specific tool that generates code at a specific phase. In this article, I will talk about the different phases of software development where the source code can be generated programmatically and I will compare the different approaches. ![]()
